Was drums always your first option?Īside from a brief and unsuccessful year playing the recorder, drums were my first serious instrument – starting with a homemade kit I made when I was about eight or nine years old… I am originally from New Haven, Connecticut and started playing professionally at 14, but also got a degree in Literature from Yale University before moving to NYC in the early eighties.
